Purrceptual Pet was selected as a finalist for the Intel Perceptual Computing Challenge. You interact with a virtual pet using hand gestures and voice commands.
The design and development was all done by myself. I used the hand data from the Intel Perceptual Computing SDK to control a virtual 3D hand which the user uses to interact with their virtual pet. I created a simple AI for the pet to allow it to react differently depending on where you touch it. I also implemented voice commands to allow the user to name their pet and call their pet’s name to get its attention.
